"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives;
he who seeks finds;
and to him who knocks, the door will be opened."
Luke 11:9
These promises are sandwiched between the Lord's Prayer ("Your Kingdom come, Your Will be done on earth as it is in heaven.") and Jesus' teaching that we can expect good things from our good Father because even human dads want to give good gifts to their children (Luke 11:11-13). When we keep spreading our earnest and persistent prayers on the wholesomeness of praying for God's Will and top it off with the loving goodness of our heavenly Father toward us, His children, we've created a classic that satisfies our faith. Unfortunately I pray too often without truly seeking God's Will or by questioning His willingness to answer my requests. When that happens, my persistence tends to fall out of the middle and I wonder why my faith is weak.
