Saturday, December 25, 2010 - Christmas Contrasts

Christmas Contrasts
An empty world said there's no room,
For heaven's King from a virgin's womb.
Peace came to earth amid Bethlehem's bedlam;
In an earthly stable bloomed the Rose of Heaven.
A band of shepherds heard an angel choir.
A midnight sky birthed a bright new fire;
A carpenter protected the Architect of earth,
And Mary, first-time mother, held our Hope for second birth.
Man grabs greedily for God's lone rights,
But God became man one holy night
To pay the price His law demands,
Our Father wrapped Grace and laid Him in our hands.

"For God, who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ." 2 Corinthians 4:6

"Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness." Philippians 2:6-7

"Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 'Glory to God in the the highest,, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests.'"Luke 2:13-14

"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich." 2 Corinthians 8:9
